Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance on life safety sprinkler systems and related product lines. You will document deficiencies, code work orders, and follow a structured inspection schedule while supporting foremen in system installations.

The role requires 2+ years in sprinkler systems, ability to read blueprints, use hand tools and multi‑meters, and lift 50–70 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
• Able to obtain and retain necessary licenses per codes.
• Experience with wet, dry, pre‑action, deluge, fire pumps, and foam systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multi‑meter usage.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Capable of physical labor up to 50–70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, ducts and crawl spaces.
• Willingness for flexible hours including on‑call, nights and weekends.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and safety adherence.
• Strong organizational skills and quick learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, sprinkler or suppression life safety product lines; perform routine inspections and testing.
• Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Document deficiencies and complete service acknowledgements with proper coding.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and complete inspections on time.
• Assist foreman in installing wet, dry, pre‑action, deluge sprinkler systems.
• Perform work in challenging positions and environments (ladders, high lift, ducts).
