Job summary

Koorsen Fire & Security Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Systems Designer to join our fire and security team.

You will prepare drawings, specifications and schematics to support sprinkler installations and ensure compliance with applicable codes. This role requires CAD design experience, familiarity with HydraCAD or similar tools, knowledge of NFPA codes, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in CAD fire sprinkler design
• Experience with HydraCAD, Hydracalc, or Hydralist
• Understanding sprinkler systems and codes
• Pass drug and background screenings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to meet state licensing requirements and/or vendor certifications
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Prepare project drawings, specifications and schematics required to support the installation of fire sprinkler systems
• Verify project requirements and coordinate with Project Managers and Sales to ensure project design is in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local codes
• Understand NFPA codes
• Interact with customers, vendors and co-workers in a professional manner
• Open willingness to continual learning
• Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices
• Follow all Koorsen policies, procedures and core values
• Any other duties deemed appropriate by management
