Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an apprentice to assist in installing fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial applications. You will support foremen, follow safety policies, and maintain proper documentation while training in our approved Apprenticeship Program.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 18+ years of age, valid driver’s license, and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program and meet apprenticeship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a safe work area.
• Document work performed and maintain records.
• Carry and maneuver tools and equipment up to 70 lbs.
• Work in various positions including ladders, scaffolding, and high lifts.
