Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an apprentice to assist in installing sprinkler systems across commercial and industrial facilities. You will work under the foreman, learn installation techniques, and perform duties safely while documenting work performed.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, possess a valid driver's license, and be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program. The role may require alternative shifts and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in written format.
• Be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprenticeship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to jobsite and training locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
