Qualifications

• 2-3 years related experience in fire sprinkler systems.
• Experience reading fire sprinkler installation plans is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair wet and dry fire sprinkler systems.
• Test piping systems for leaks and adhere to safety procedures.
• Respond to emergency service calls outside normal hours.

Job description

Join to apply for the Fire Sprinkler Service Technician role at Century Fire Protection.

Summary
Responsible for service and repair of fire sprinkler piping and piping systems, fixtures, sprinklers, and industrial processing systems.

Location: Div. 9 Hickory, NC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

1. Service and repair of wet fire sprinkler systems including associated pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads.
2. Service and repair of dry fire sprinkler systems including associated pipe, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads.
3. Responsible for OS&Y valves including installation of repacking kits.
4. Work with metal and plastic (such as PVC and CPVC) pipes.
5. Service and repair of air compressors and associated controls.
6. Service and repair fire pumps and associated controls.
7. Secure pipes to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers using hand tools.
8. Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
9. Adhere to safety procedures.
10. Work extended hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
11. Respond to emergency service and repair calls outside normal hours.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; 2-3 years related experience or training; experience with anti-freeze loops and pre-action systems is a plus. Experience reading fire sprinkler installation plans is preferred.

Additional Requirements
Pre-employment drug screening and a clean MVR.
