Qualifications

SUMMARY



Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Facility Maintenance Worker in our Facilities Maintenance department. This full-time (1.0 FTE) will work evenings from 12:30 to 9:00pm.



Under supervision, an employee in this job class performs work of moderate difficulty in general maintenance work and a variety of other routine tasks.



RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Collect/ dispose of trash and litter and empty trash receptacles daily

  • Clean, service and check fluid and batteries of vehicles and small gas engines

  • Maintain sidewalks, driveways, and building entrances to be free of ice, snow and other safety hazards daily

  • Flexible hours will be required for snow removal

  • Maintain foliage, grass, shrubs, etc. and adjust sprinkler heads as needed

  • Maintain interior structure; walls, floors, windows, ceilings, light fixtures and lights, vents, etc

  • Coordinate equipment repair

  • Deliver, receive and inventory equipment and supplies both to facility and to other hospital locations

  • Inspect, assemble, deliver office furniture and maintain storage areas for surplus

  • Assist tradesperson or contractor in locating equipment and/or setting it up

  • Assist with office moves as requested

  • Identify, package, label and transport hazardous waste and inspect hazardous waste storage site

  • Operate and maintain grounds equipment

  • Daily patient bed pick-up

  • Perform ramp cleaning duties on a daily basis

  • Other duties as assigned, but only after applicable training


QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma

  • One year of general mechanical and facilities maintenance experience

  • -OR- An approved equivalent of education and work experience

  • Valid Minnesota driver's license or a valid drivers license recognized by the state of Minnesota

  • A satisfactory driving record including no more than two moving violations in the last three years of licensure


Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:



  • Must be proficient in the English language

  • Requires ability to read and follow instruction
