Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service and preventive maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression lines. You will document deficiencies, collaborate with the foreman, and complete inspections with proper coding using laptops, phones, or hardcopy.

Position requires physical labor, ability to travel, and enrollment in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program. NICET II preferred; sprinkler experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to obtain and retain required licenses by national, state and local codes.
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, schematics and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
• Physically able to carry/move equipment 50–70 lbs.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding, ducts and high lift equipment.

Responsibilities

• Meet customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
• Discern and document deficiencies found during inspections.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
• Complete service acknowledgements/inspections with proper coding.
• Follow structured inspection schedules and complete on time.
• Assist in installation of sprinkler systems and perform minor repairs.
• Travel as required; work flexible hours including nights/weekends.
• Maintain safety guidelines and high level of customer service.
