Sprinkler Construction Foreman
Allied Fire Protection is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Construction Foreman to lead fire sprinkler system installations, supervision, and overall project execution.
Job Description
Lead and oversee fire sprinkler system projects in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring safety, quality, and timeliness while maintaining budget and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Service and troubleshoot automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment.
- Lead, direct, and delegate tasks to fitters and helpers to meet project deadlines and scheduling requirements.
- Complete assigned projects on time, keeping costs within budget.
- Ensure all projects are executed flawlessly and independently when necessary.
- Interpret installation requirements accurately from project drawings.
- Update daily installation progress notes on job contract drawings (asbuilds).
- Communicate needed change orders to the fire sprinkler manager or project manager before commencing changes.
- Thread, groove pipe, cut hanger rods, climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, layout, keep work area clean, and use appropriate equipment (tools, lifts, etc.).
- Present weekly toolbox talks to employees.
- Provide a safe working environment for employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Submit accurate timesheets: job numbers/names, OT, travel pay, completed on time, and support transition to electronic timesheet submission.
- Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate, professional, and signed.
- Maintain proper inventory management: review, update, and approve packing slips and other material records.
- Maintain proper maintenance and care of equipment—trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
- Keep job sites clean and organized.
- Maintain production efficiency—budget vs. actual labor hours and proactive communication with the superintendent.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs—purchase orders, change orders, etc.
- Timeliness: arrive on time, maintain attendance, communicate with supervisors, and complete paperwork.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback for improvement.
- Maintain quality control—reduce need for return trips and warranty work.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
- Teamwork: maintain positive interactions within your team, local office, etc.
- Actively participate in required team meetings.
- Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on‑call as needed.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler piping systems, including fabrication of related piping and applicable joining methods.
- Understanding of fire protection installation requirements and ability to read fire protection blueprints.
- Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: American Fire Sprinkler Association training program for fire sprinkler foremen.
- Preferred: Nicet II & III certification.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a fire sprinkler helper (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a fire sprinkler apprentice/fitter (preferred).
