Job description

Sprinkler Construction Fitter

Position at Allied Fire Protection.

Responsibilities
  • Assist foreman with installation, service, and trouble‑shooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems and related equipment.
  • Assist foreman with installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Use project drawings to accurately interpret and follow installation requirements and layout as needed.
  • Thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, frequently climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, and keep a clean work area using appropriate equipment such as tools and lifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expectations

  • Maintain safety as a top priority.
  • Submit JSAs, Toolbox Talks, Audit Forms, and other required documentation promptly.
  • Report incidents and accidents accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Account for all safety initiatives and safe driving of company vehicles.
  • Support Stop Work Authority and complete all training requirements, including safety and certifications.
  • Submit accurate timesheets with job numbers, overtime, and travel pay, and support the transition to electronic timesheet submission.
  • Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate and professional, with required signatures.
  • Manage inventory, review, update, and approve packing slips, and manage material properly.
  • Maintain and care for equipment—trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
  • Keep jobsites clean and organized.
  • Monitor production efficiency, be aware of budget vs actual labor hours, and communicate proactively with the superintendent.
  • Adhere to company SOPs, including Purchase Orders and Change Orders.
  • Show timeliness—arrive on time, attend, communicate with supervisor, and handle paperwork.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback with improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain quality control to reduce return trips and warranty work.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers.
  • Practice teamwork—maintain positive interactions with team and local office.
  • Actively participate in required team meetings.
  • Be willing to work overtime, out of town, or on‑call as needed.
Knowledge
  • Basic math and reading.
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Fire sprinkler installation experience.
  • Experience cutting steel pipe for new construction or remodel projects.
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to take direction from upper management.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Self‑motivated, ambitious, interactive, communicative, detail‑oriented, and organized.
