Job Description

Learn by paying attention and participating in all aspects of the fire sprinkler trade. Assist foreman with installation, service, and troubleshooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems along with related equipment. Assist foreman with installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Interpret project drawings accurately and layout installation requirements. Thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, layout, keep work area clean, and use appropriate equipment such as tools and lifts.

Additional duties include supporting the mission statement, core values, and business plan daily, prioritizing safety, ensuring timely submittal of JSAs, toolbox talks, audit forms, and incident reports, holding oneself accountable for safety initiatives and safe driving, completing all training and certification requirements, submitting accurate timesheets, maintaining proper documentation, managing inventory, maintaining equipment, keeping job sites clean, monitoring production efficiency, adhering to company SOPs, being punctual, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining quality control, presenting a professional appearance, communicating effectively internally and externally, working as part of a team, attending required meetings, and working overtime, out‑of‑town, or on‑call as needed.

  • Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate, and professional, with required signatures.
  • Ensure proper inventory management – review, update, and approve packing slips – submitted timely, proper material management.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of equipment – trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
  • Keep jobsites clean and organized.
  • Ensure production efficiency – awareness of budget vs. actual labor hours and proactive communication with superintendent.
  • Support and ensure adherence to company SOPs – purchase orders, change orders, etc.
  • Timeliness – at the job on time; attendance; communication with supervisor; paperwork.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to survey feedback improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain quality control (reduce return trips and warranty work).
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers.
  • Teamwork – maintain positive interactions within your team, local office, etc.
  • Actively participate in required team meetings.
  • Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on-call as needed.
Knowledge
  • Basic math and reading.
  • Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
  • 1 year of experience as a fire sprinkler or construction‑related helper preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to take direction from upper management.
  • Valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Self‑motivated, ambitious, interactive, communicative, detail‑oriented, and organized.
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately read measurements from tape or scales.
