Job summary

Century-Furniture is seeking an upholsterer helper to install springs using the 8-way hand-tie method in furniture frames. The role involves covering springs, attaching burlap and edge wires, and assembling backs with Marshall units and webbing.

It requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs, with opportunity to rotate through related tasks during the day. Ideal candidates will have experience with upholstery springs or related tasks and will follow all safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with springs/upholstery is a plus.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Install 8-way hand-tied springs in upholstery frames.
  • Cover springs in frame with FLW and attach using staple gun.
  • Install no-sags on backs, apply burlap and use staples or nails for attaching burlap and edge wire.
  • Build backs, install Marshall units, webbing, drop-in units, and edge roll.
  • Attach metal bonding underneath units by stapling to wood surface.
