Hickory Chair LlC is seeking an upholsterer/assistant to install springs using the 8‑way hand tie method in furniture frames. You will cover springs, apply burlap, and secure components with staples, nails, and edge materials as required.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., and rotating duties throughout the day while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with spring up/8-way hand tying is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Place springs in frame and tie down using the 8-way hand tie method.
• Cover springs with FLW and attach using staple gun.
• Install no sags on backs and apply burlap fabric to arms and legs, securing with staples or nails.
• Attach edge wire where needed and build backs with Marshall units, webbing and edge roll.
• Follow safety policies and rotate functions throughout the day.
