Job summary

Hickory Chair is seeking an upholstery spring installer to join our day shift. You will prepare frames and install springs using the 8-way hand tie method, ensuring proper tension and secure attachments throughout the seating system.

Responsibilities include fabricating backs, installing Marshall units and edge components, and maintaining safety policies while rotating through different tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of 8-way hand tying technique is preferred.
• Experience with spring installation in upholstery manufacturing is a plus.

• Rotate through job functions throughout the day.
• Staple underneath units to secure bonding as appropriate.

Summary Job Description

This position is responsible for using the 8-way hand tie method to install springs in frames used in the manufacture of upholstered furniture.

Essential Duties

• Places springs in frame and ties down using the 8-way hand tie method
• Cover springs in seat with FLW and attaches using staple gun
• Installs no sags on backs of frame as needed
• Applies burlap fabric to arms and legs and uses staples or nails to attach burlap and metal bands
• Applies edge wire where needed
• Builds backs, installs Marshall units no sags, webbing, drop-in units, and edge roll
• Frequently rotates in each job functions throughout the day
• Attaches metal bonding underneath units by stapling onto wood surface, as appropriate
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures

QualificationsPosition Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous spring up/8-way hand tying experience a plus
