Job summary

Briarcliff Manor School District is seeking a qualified head coach to oversee the district's athletic program within the Athletic Department. You will coach, mentor, and develop student-athletes, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.

The role requires strong leadership, adherence to district policies, and ongoing professional growth through clinics and training. You will collaborate with the athletic director and principals to promote sportsmanship and high standards.

Qualifications

• Organize and supervise the entire sports program.
• Have prior successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
• Possess substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay current with new theories and procedures.
• Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes through instruction and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with athletic policies approved by the Briarcliff UFSD Board of Education.
• Implement system, state, and league regulations; interpret them for staff.
• Direct and support a staff of high school and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and principals.
• Develop the program's philosophy and coordinate conferences, clinics and staff meetings to ensure staff awareness.
• Mentor student-athletes to promote character traits and academic success.
• Assist athletic director with budgeting, equipment, scheduling and event coordination.
