Job summary

Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a motivated Varsity Softball Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in leading the high school softball program. You will contribute to player development, game preparation, and maintaining a positive, competitive team culture aligned with Cooperstown athletics.

You will assist with practices, provide mentorship to student-athletes, and help with game decisions and logistics while ensuring compliance with NYSPHSAA and district policies.

Qualifications

• Required: Completion or willingness to complete all NYSED coaching certification requirements.
• CPR and First Aid Certification are required.
• DASA Training is required.
• Concussion Management Certification is required.
• SAVE Training is required.
• Fingerprint clearance through NYSED is required.
• Preferred: Experience coaching softball at school or club level.
• Strong understanding of softball fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
• Ability to communicate clearly and positively with players, staff, and families.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
• Commitment to supporting student-athletes’ academic and athletic growth.

Cooperstown Central School is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Varsity Softball Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in leading the high school softball program. This position plays a key role in player development, game preparation, and maintaining a positive, competitive team culture that reflects the values of Cooperstown athletics.
