Job summary

Paterson Public Schools seeks seasonal coaches for the spring sports program. Candidates must hold a NJ Teacher's or Substitute Teacher Certificate, with proof of experience if using the substitute option. Coaching is preferred but not mandatory, and daily availability during the spring season is required.

Candidates must maintain CPR/AED certification and obtain concussion and heat acclimatization wellness certificates renewed annually. A year after hire, a Sports First Aid course is required.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder.
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be available daily during the spring sports season.
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both.
• Must obtain a 'Concussion Awareness and Wellness' certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• Must obtain a 'Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness' certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in 'Sports First Aid'.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Pending budget availability.
• All postings are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website.
