Job summary

Paterson Public Schools in Paterson, NJ seeks athletic coaches for the March 9, 2027–June 14, 2027 season. Successful candidates will support spring sports programs and work daily during the season.

Applicants must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate, have CPR and AED certifications, and complete required wellness certificates. Coaching experience is preferred, and a Sports First Aid course must be completed within the first year.

Qualifications

Must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
Coaching experience preferred, but not required
Must be available daily during the spring sports season
Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
Must obtain a "+Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
Must Obtain a "+Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid"
Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
