Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Co Op in Durant, MS for Spring 2027 (Jan–May). You will contribute to plant performance by executing continuous improvement projects in metal fabrication and assembly, under mentorship from a manufacturing engineer.

Responsibilities include designing fixtures, updating layouts, researching tools, and documenting procedures while developing hands-on experience in production environments.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Preference for Mechanical Engineering Technology / Industrial Technology.
• Applicable work experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and validate fixtures and tooling for production and material handling.
• Verify and update plant layout drawings as required.
• Research, order and implement tools and plant equipment for existing and new processes.
• Create or revise process documentation including work instructions and procedures.
• Hands-on execution of projects to improve safety, quality and productivity.
• Troubleshoot processes and equipment issues.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
