Job summary

Precision Castparts seeks a co-op student in the engineering discipline to apply classroom principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. You will assist with process and product design, report progress to project owners, and contribute to project goals while identifying improvements.

You’ll join project teams, develop requirements, and ensure work meets specifications. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, ownership of assigned projects, and potential opportunities for future full-time

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Apply principles learned in school to hands-on situations, such as process and product design.
  • Responsible for accomplishing project goals, and reporting those accomplishments to project owners.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements for specified projects.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
  • Participate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new product or applications and develop requirements and specifications with team.
  • Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with peers and other departments on product line extensions and product enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Materials, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Prefer a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Student will spend 50%-60% of time in the manufacturing plant and minimal travel may be required.

Other Benefits
  • Co-ops will be paid $25.00 hour /40-hours a week.
  • Monthly housing stipend of $1,000 (requirements must be met to qualify).
