Precision Castparts is seeking a co-op student in quality engineering to apply school principles to real manufacturing settings. You will work on hands-on evaluations, support process improvements, and interact with PCC customers and vendors to optimize performance.

The role emphasizes ownership of projects, attendance at department meetings, and participation in training sessions while contributing to ongoing product development and enhancements in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficient with Excel and Access.
  • Good writing and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to hands-on quality evaluations and control.
  • Meet performance goals with progressive responsibility in quality engineering.
  • Interface with PCC customers and vendors to improve processes.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements on projects.
  • Attend regular departmental meetings and trainings.
  • Perform or review systems analysis, testing, and documentation.
  • Own identified projects and work to meet goals on schedule.
  • Collaborate on new product development and product enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • The student will apply principles learned in school to hands-on situations, such quality evaluations and control.
  • The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility in quality engineering throughout his/her co-op experience.
  • The student will have contact with PCC customers and vendors while helping to improve processes.
  • Will identify and recommend process improvements for specified projects.
  • Student will attend regular departmental meeting.
  • Student will attend training sessions, symposiums and other appropriate educational opportunities.
  • Will perform or review systems analysis, testing, and documentation for existing processes.
  • Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
  • Participate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new product or applications and develop requirements and specifications with team.
  • Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Materials, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.

Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Student will spend 50%-60% of time in the manufacturing plant and minimal travel may be required.
