Mercor is seeking data analysts and spreadsheet specialists in San Francisco or remote locations to support a research project with a leading AI lab. The role offers a part-time commitment of about 10-20 hours per week and requires you to work on real data analysis workflows using your Mac.

You should own a MacBook with Apple Silicon or Intel, have advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Numbers/Google Sheets), and be comfortable narrating your steps as you create training data for AI models.

Qualifications

• Masters studies or 2-3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets for data cleaning and modeling.
• Experience with SQL, Python/R or BI tools is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Role Overview:

Mercor is looking for data analysts and spreadsheet specialists with 2-3 years of experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students in a quantitative field, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real data analysis workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, financial or operational models)

• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution

• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
