Job summary

Actalent in East Brunswick, NJ is seeking a 2nd shift Compounder focused on spray-dry mixing for our production team. You will retrieve, weigh, and mix ingredients, process liquids and powders, and ensure quality and food safety standards are met.

Work closely with cross-functional colleagues to support batch production of food, flavor, and fragrance products, maintain accurate records, collect batch samples for lab testing, and follow GMP, sanitation, and PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year experience in compounding powders in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with chemical mixing, compounding, and batch making.
• Experience in GMP environments with safety and sanitation protocols.
• Ability to weigh and measure ingredients accurately.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve ingredients from storage and verify batch requirements.
• Accurately measure ingredients using scales and equipment.
• Mix ingredients according to batch instructions and load into equipment.
• Melting solids using hot plates and appropriate methods.
• Dilute ingredients as needed and record usage accurately.
• Verify weight and contents of raw materials during production.
• Conduct in-process inspections for quality and specifications.
• Document all process events, measurements, and adjustments.
• Process liquids and powders using homogenizing and spray-dry methods.
• Check batch consistency and measure viscosity to spec.
• Collect batch samples and deliver to laboratory for testing.
• Follow GMP and safety protocols, including PPE and sanitation.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and accurate records.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and resolve issues.
