Job summary

Actalent in New Jersey is seeking a Compounder for the 3rd shift (Spray) to accurately prepare, mix, and process powder and liquid ingredients using spray, homogenizing, and spray dry methods in a GMP environment.

You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure high-quality batches, monitor batch parameters, document all steps, and maintain a clean, organized work area while following safety protocols. Shift runs 12:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with varying weekday schedules.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of compounding experience with powders and raw materials.
• Hands-on chemical mixing, compounding and batch making in production.
• Experience in GMP environment and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and stage raw ingredients per batch instructions.
• Weigh and measure ingredients using scales according to batch formulas.
• Mix ingredients using homogenizing and spray dry methods.
• Document all material usage and batch details accurately.
• Identify and prepare required dilutions for ingredients.
• Handle and monitor solids and liquids safely on hot plates.
• Perform in-process inspections for batch consistency and quality.
• Monitor viscosity and other properties to meet specs.
• Collect batch samples and deliver to the laboratory for testing.
• Record process events and deviations per procedures.
• Maintain GMP, sanitation, and clean, organized work area.
• Wear PPE and follow shift-specific safety protocols.
