Job summary

  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify masking and truck positioning per instructions.
  • Operate manual or robotic spray based on instructions.
  • Ensure proper spray pattern and quality.
  • Maintain safety policies and PPE on the production floor.

Job description

The position of Spray Booth Operator will be to manually or robotically spray bedliner material on the truck bed of our customers’ vehicles based on the written work instructions. This position will ensure daily start up is completed, ensure spray equipment and booth pressure is maintained, ensure proper tracking of vehicles and good quality spray patterns are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure completion of daily startup of equipment including booth and spray equipment.
    • Ensure equipment including spray tips, spray guns, booth equipment and door seals are in working order prior to starting spray process.
    • Ensure the booth doors are sealed and locked prior to beginning the spray process.
    • Ensure Lock Out Tag Out process is followed per work instructions.
  • Prior to spraying, verify that the truck is masked including masking aids and cab cover, the bed is free from debris, the bar code has been scanned and verified, and the truck is positioned correctly per the traveler and written work instructions.
  • Prepare for manual or robotic spray based on available equipment and written work instructions.
    • Program the robotic spray equipment based on the information received from the bar code.
  • Check the truck during the spray process as noted in the work instruction.
    • Recognize and ensure a proper spray pattern is being applied before finalizing spray process.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Minimum Required:Minimum of grade 12 education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience
    • Preferred: Robotic or paint process experience a plus but will train.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanically inclined with attention to detail is a plus.
  • Perform work in a safe manner per the Company Health and Safety Policy and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal. communication as well as organizational skills.
  • Maintain a valid US Driver’s License.
  • Must complete medical evaluation including Respiratory Protection requirements.
  • Preferred: Basic computer skills desired but will train as necessary.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 a plus.

Working Conditions

The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:

  • Manufacturing environment with no managerial assignments or responsibilities.
  • Continued exposure to automotive vehicles, chemicals, robotics, industrial and manufacturing equipment. Limited weather elements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. with limited accommodations and flexible working positions as required.
  • Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
