Job summary

Energy Exemplar seeks a senior Lead Energy Market Analyst for the SPP/WECC region. You will model market dynamics using PLEXOS and Aurora, translate client needs into actionable insights, and deliver tailored demonstrations to prospects, pilots, and renewals.

You will collaborate with Sales, Product, and Services to shape regional strategy. The role emphasizes expert market design knowledge, customer-facing guidance, and the ability to produce compelling technical and commercial narratives

Qualifications

• 7+ years in wholesale electricity markets or energy consulting
• Hands-on experience building production cost or resource adequacy models in PLEXOS/Aurora
• Strong knowledge of SPP and Western market design: LMP, congestion, RA
• Experience in pre-sales, consulting or client advisory with senior audiences
• Ability to translate quantitative results into a clear commercial story
• Strong data skills: Python or R, SQL, and advanced Excel

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain energy market models for SPP/WECC using PLEXOS
• Translate customer problems into modeling workflows with commercial value
• Design and deliver tailored demos, workshops, and proofs of concept
• Own technical content of proposals and RFP responses for the region
• Deepen accounts by identifying adjacent use cases and cross-sell paths
• Build, configure and validate PLEXOS and Aurora models for SPP/WECC
• Execute production cost, capacity expansion, RA, ELCC, LMP analyses
• Maintain regional reference models with documented workflows
• Showcase PLEXOS Intelligence capabilities on regional use cases
• Identify use cases, size opportunities, co-develop go-to-market plan
• Create reusable demonstration assets and enablement content
• Represent Energy Exemplar at industry conferences
• Monitor market design changes and brief teams on implications
• Channel customer requirements to Product and coordinate handoffs
• Mentor Solutions analysts in market knowledge
