Job summary

The Village of Orland Park seeks a responsible, sports/fitness minded individual to serve as the Sportsplex Facility Manager on duty in the absence of a full-time manager — ensuring consistency with policy, procedures and customer service guidelines. This position may suit a student pursuing a 4-year degree in Recreation, Sports Management or related field.

Scheduled hours are approximately 19 hours per week with availability across weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management or related field preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred, required within 90 days of hire.
• Must be available Monday through Sunday with opening/closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise facility operations and ensure policy compliance.
• Address inconsistencies in procedures and respond to customer concerns.
• Initiate emergency responses and administer CPR/First Aid when needed.
• Maintain general upkeep of the Sportsplex and set up/tear down for programs.
• Open and close the facility and perform other duties as assigned.

This position is ideal for an individual who is working towards the completion of a 4-year degree in Recreation, Sports Management or other directly related field.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include supervising operations, addressing inconsistencies in operational procedures, responding to customer concerns, initiating emergency responses, administering CPR/First Aid, maintaining general upkeep of the facility, setting up/tearing down for programs as needed, as well as opening and closing of the facility, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management or other directly related field is preferred. Great for recent graduates as long as prior related customer service experience along with some staff supervision has been performed. CPR/First Aid certification preferred, required within 90 days of hire. Must be available Monday through Sunday with availability for various shifts, including opening and/or closing the building.

This is a great part-time job to supplement as additional income - or as a primary job. We are very flexible and willing to work around other work schedules if necessary.

Scheduled hours: Approximately 19 hours per week.

Sportsplex hours of operation are weekday's, 5:00AM to 10:00PM; Saturday's, 7:00AM to 8:00PM; and Sunday's 8:00AM to 8:00PM.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay rate is $18.85 - $26.71, depending on experience and qualifications.

Anticipated starting salary is $18.85 per hour.
