Job summary

Sportsplex New Windsor is seeking a Maintenance & Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping across the club. You will supervise staff, coordinate with vendors, and help manage budgets alongside the General Manager.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage preventative maintenance, scheduling, and facility standards to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations year-round.

Qualifications

• Commercial building maintenance or fitness club operations experience.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance & Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping operations across our sports and fitness complex. This role focuses on staff supervision, vendor coordination, scheduling, preventative maintenance tracking, and ensuring facility standards are consistently met. The Supervisor works closely with the General Manager on budgeting, planning, and capital decisions. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong blend of technical know-how, administrative acumen, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilities Maintenance Coordination & Oversight: Coordinate and oversee routine facility maintenance and repairs by working with established third-party vendors, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and specialized trades. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for vendor access, work scheduling, and follow-up. Perform light, non-specialized repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as needed to support daily operations. Escalate complex or technical issues to the General Manager and appropriate vendors.


• Vendor & Budget Management: Communicate and negotiate with multiple vendors to ensure timely service, competitive pricing, and high-quality work. Track maintenance-related expenses, obtain vendor quotes, and provide budget input and recommendations to the General Manager to support cost-effective decision-making.


• Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of entry-level and mid-level maintenance staff. Create and manage daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance schedules that align with the operational needs of the club.


• Task Planning & Problem Solving: Use strong organizational and problem-solving skills to plan ahead for facility needs, anticipate potential issues, and implement systems to improve efficiency and service delivery.


• Groundskeeping: Oversee care and upkeep of outdoor grounds including landscaping, parking lot upkeep, snow removal, and seasonal exterior projects.


• Emergency Response: Serve as on-call responder for facility alarms and emergencies (nights, weekends, holidays as required).


• Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate logs, schedules, and reports using basic computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email communication

This role does not require licensure or certification in specialized trades; technical repairs are performed by contracted vendors.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in commercial building maintenance or fitness club operations is preferred


• Experience supervising and developing staff


• Excellent communication skills, including bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred


• Strong attention to detail and follow-through


• Capable of lifting 50 lbs+ and performing physical labor


• Clean driving record and reliable transportation


• Able to pass a background check


• Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and snow/inclement weather days


• Experience tracking departmental expenses and working within established budgets

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary of approximately $50,000/year, commensurate with experience
