Job summary

The Hastings YMCA is seeking a Sports Director to lead youth and adult sports programs, including leagues, tournaments, camps, and clinics. You will drive growth, maintain program quality, and ensure participant satisfaction through strong community relationships and operational excellence.

With a focus on strategic direction for the sports department, you will lead a team of officials and staff, manage budgets, and uphold safety and quality standards to deliver world-class participant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Business, or related field preferred, or relevant experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Proven multitasking and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end management, scheduling, and execution of youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments, camps, clinics, and community events.
• Drive program expansion and participation; evaluate offerings and implement high-quality new sports programs.
• Build and nurture relationships with local schools, community organizations, partners, and participants.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate sports officials, site supervisors, and volunteer coaches.
• Ensure games, events, and practices run smoothly with strong organization, communication, and safety standards.
• Manage the sports department budget, optimize resources, and meet revenue and growth targets.
