Job summary

Sandy City is seeking a recreation assistant to organize and supervise sports activities and events under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator. You will manage participants, coaches, spectators, parents, and possibly officials to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires communication skills, basic knowledge of the sport, and the ability to follow instructions and use relevant equipment. A drug test is required before hire, and a valid driver’s license may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or current enrollment.
• Minimum six months of related activity experience; leadership preferred.
• Minimum age 16 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge of the assigned sport/activity.
• Strong communication skills and ability to use office equipment, a scoreboard control panel, and equipment related to the activity.
• Good decision-making skills and responsibility for materials and equipment; ability to motivate workers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and pay attention to game calls by referees.
• Must pass a drug test before hire.
