Job summary

The City of Sandy Springs is seeking dependable, energetic, and community-focused individuals to serve as Recreation Park Aids. This part-time role supports recreation programs, leagues, camps, and events across City parks and facilities.

Assignments may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with duties spanning supervision, setup, and event coordination to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for participants of all ages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum age 18 for recreation assignments; 21 for certain roles.
• Valid Georgia driver's license with acceptable driving history.
• Ability to lead and engage diverse groups in activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with organizing, setting up, and facilitating recreational programs, camps, leagues, and events.
• Lead, instruct, and supervise activities for children, adults, and individuals with disabilities.
• Coach and supervise sports leagues and free-play activities in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Monitor park facility use and enforce rules and safety standards.
• Prepare facilities, fields, equipment, and assist with cleanup and trash removal.
• Handle clerical tasks such as collecting waivers and contact information; assist with field trips.
