Big R is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support the Buyer in the Sporting Goods and Automotive departments. The role focuses on business management, problem-solving, and vendor relations, with strong Excel and presentation skills to analyze trends and improve processes.

The position is based at Big R’s home office in Pueblo, CO, not remote, and requires a high school diploma along with excellent communication and multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with Excel and Office apps preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the buyer to achieve sales, margin and inventory plans.
• Write purchase orders and manage PO process with suppliers.
• Share product knowledge through market research and competitive shopping.
• Identify priorities and improve efficiency in PO writing and admin tasks.
• Be responsive in the marketplace and troubleshoot supplier issues.
