Assistant Buyer - Outdoor Gear Merchandising

Job summary

Crecera Brands, driving Sportsman’s Guide and related brands, seeks an Assistant Buyer to support the Lead Merchant in assortment development and online merchandising across channels. You will collaborate with Marketing and Creative teams to optimize product presentation and promotional content.

Qualifications include a merchandising/marketing/business degree and 2+ years in buying or inventory roles. Travel up to 5% may be required; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in merchandising, marketing, business administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of experience in merchandising, buying, inventory management, or product development preferred.
• Knowledge of the shooting sports categories within the Firearm industry a plus.
• Results driven and resourceful with strong creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proven history of collaboration across multiple departments.
• Strong organizational skills. Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Entrepreneurial-like mind with a team-centered approach.
• Computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Domestic travel up to 5% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maximize sales of an online assortment through effective product presentation and accurate advertising content.
• Monitors competitors' pricing, content, promotions and assortment; communicates recommendations to meet objectives.
• Collaborates on Owned Brand product development.
• Partners with Inventory Analyst to identify slow turning items and aged inventory; creates action plans maximizing margin and meeting inventory goals.
• Implements strategic category direction through assortment, marketing recommendations, promotional planning, and content for all sales channels.
• Based on performance, may manage specific category purchasing.
• Performs related work as required.
