Exemplar Luxury Group in the Washington, DC area is seeking an Assistant Buyer for Men's Sportswear to support vendor selections, monitor inventory productivity, and analyze profitability. You will help enter price changes and work with brand partners to ensure accurate PO details.

This role requires 1–2 years in an Assistant Buyer role, strong retail math, and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and retail systems.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of retail math concepts including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measures.
2 years' experience as an Assistant Buyer or in a similar retail buying role.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Sheets/Docs/Slides; familiar with retail systems.

Responsibilities

Order Management: Liaise with Buyers, Associate Buyers, and brand partners to gather order details and manage buy sheets; oversee offshore Merchandise Assistants' PO creation and transmission to brand partners.
Market Preparation: Prepare Buyers for Market with historical performance insights and coordinate market appointments, supporting assortment presentation.
Bottoms-Up In-Season Analysis: Act as primary contact for execution questions; review performance with Assistant Planners and suggest in-season actions; manage markdown cadence and coordinate offshore reporting.
