Job summary

WireCo is seeking a Spooler Operator in Rosenberg, TX to transfer wire from bobbins onto production bobbins and manage winding quality. You will load bobbins with a hoist, thread wires, and maintain tension.

The role requires stacking full bobbins, tagging, and recording output while upholding safety standards. Responsibilities include operating the spooler, ensuring proper winding, scrap disposal, and adherence to quality instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or demonstrated literacy and math ability.
• Willingness to learn to operate precision measuring instruments like micrometers.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete for up to 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to use JDE TranCollector scan guns to issue/return material and record production.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand tools.
• Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs; follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Transfer wire from bobbins onto correct bobbins for production.
• Load wire bobbins into let-off stands with a mechanical hoist as staged.
• Load empty bobbin into the spooler take-up and thread through guides.
• Weld leading end of new supply to trailing end and ensure proper winding.
• Engage spooler, monitor operation and maintain tension and uniform winding.
• Remove full bobbins, stage them with proper tags, and record production totals.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow work instructions/quality standards.
• Ensure personal safety and the safety of others; attend scheduled shifts including overtime.
