The University at Buffalo’s Sponsored Projects Services unit is seeking a Post-Award Compliance Specialist (PACS) to ensure compliant financial management of sponsored research awards. You will review personnel and financial transactions for allowability, maintain audit-ready documentation, and guide award managers to meet sponsor and institutional requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 2 years’ experience or equivalent.
Attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

Review and approve sponsored project-related personnel and financial transactions for accuracy, allowability, and allocability under award terms, sponsor guidelines, and university policies.
Provide guidance and serve as a resource to award managers and transaction processors on allowable research charges, helping them be proactive with PI needs and minimize issues.
Maintain accurate transaction records and necessary documentation for audit purposes.
Collaborate with award managers and stakeholders to ensure all financial obligations are met prior to award closeout.
Stay informed of changes in sponsor guidelines and university policies, communicating relevant updates to award managers and stakeholders.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline transaction review and approval processes, enhancing efficiency and compliance.
