Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida is seeking a Manager of Sponsored Projects to oversee fiscal compliance and administration for grants and contracts awarded to the Cancer Center. You will develop policies, ensure proper revenue recognition, and lead the Single Audit preparation to support sponsor terms and requirements.

The role requires strong leadership of the SPA team, experience with ERP and Lawson systems, and deep knowledge of Federal, State, and other funding rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
• Minimum of eight (8) years progressive Sponsored Projects administration.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a project lead, supervisory or management role within a business and/or financial analysis department.
• Preferred Certification: CPA (not required)

Responsibilities

• Develops staffing models and time studies including productivity monitoring and tracking to ensure work is efficient and innovative.
• Develops and supports a team culture that encourages team work, collaboration and positivity among the Senior Financial Analysts for Sponsored Projects (SPA).
• Develops department procedures and processes.
• Determine measures of success and ensure data exists to measure and track.
• Share metric performance frequently to ensure transparency and collaborative to problem solve areas for improvement.
• Ensures that there are effective procedures in place to ensure that Lawson activities are used to appropriately record award expenses, revenue, billing and collections according to Sponsor terms and conditions and accounting requirements.
• As well as accurate and timely reporting to Sponsors.
• Ensures that the team is aware of regulatory requirements governing Federal grants contracts, State, and other funding sources.
• Ensures that there are effective processes for high risk Sponsored project compliance items e.g. subrecipient monitoring, Cost transfers (labor and non-labor).
• Works with Systems support team within Research Finance to improve efficiency with processes and data analysis.
• Keeps current with regulations to ensure processes are updated as needed to address regulatory changes.
• Works collaboratively with peers across the Cancer Center as appropriate.
• The manager will ensure that departmental processes and procedures are designed and executed according to the requirements established in the OMB's Uniform Guidance as well as Florida Single Audit Act.
