Job summary

The University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS) seeks an Accounting and Compliance Analyst to manage 150+ accounts, mostly federally funded sponsored projects, using Workday and BA4 Priority.

You will perform monthly reconciliations, maintain encumbrances, produce reports for faculty and PIs, and ensure charges are compliant with federal/state rules. Strong GAAP knowledge and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of professional finance, accounting, or accounting compliance experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to recommend compliance controls and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile accounts and manage transactions using BA4 Priority and Workday.
• Maintain encumbrances and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
• Prepare monthly reports for faculty and PIs and support process improvements.
