Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Clinical Lab Science & Technology or appropriate Military Training eligible for ASCP or NCA certification.
• ASCP, NCA AMT, or equivalent eligible; must be completed within 6 months of hire.
• MLT certification/CLT or MLT training from an NAACLS program; eligible for certification.
• BLS/BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, labels and stores reagents, standards, controls and patient specimens for analysis.
• Analyzes patient, control and proficiency testing specimens and records results per policy.
• Calibrates, maintains and operates instruments, documenting activities and reporting malfunctions.
• Correlates results of laboratory determinations and ensures safe, efficient patient care.
• Disposes of biohazardous materials and chemical waste per policy.

Education

Associates Degree in Clinical Lab Science & Technology or appropriate Military Training eligible for ASCP or NCA certification

ASCP, NCA AMT, or equivalent eligible (must be completed within 6 months of hire)

Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification training / CLT or MLT training (NAACLS)
