Job summary

CableCom, LLC is hiring a Coax Splicer in Madison, WI. You will perform both aerial and underground coax splicing, upgrade work, and post-installation testing and troubleshooting. The role requires a valid US work authorization, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a DOT medical card. You’ll document daily work and handle basic vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (not Provisional) with an acceptable driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam for a valid medical card.
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year in telecommunications.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work through daily production reports, marking up maps and keeping material records.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Splicer I Coax is $23.00 - $28.00.
