Job summary

CableCom, LLC in Washington state is seeking a Coax Splicer to install, upgrade, and splice coax networks for telecom clients, including internet, cable TV, and phone services.

You will work both aerial and underground, test equipment, maintain safety, and document field activities. A valid driver's license and ability to pass a DOT medical exam are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
  • Six months coax splicing or one year telecom industry experience.
  • Must pass a DOT medical exam and maintain a valid medical card.

Responsibilities

  • With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
  • Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
  • Safely navigate working at heights and from underground to in the air.
  • Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
  • Document work performed through daily production reports and maps.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

  • Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
  • Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
  • Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
Additional Qualifications
  • Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred
Physical Abilities & Exposures
  • Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
  • Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Splicer I Coax is $23.00 - $26.00.
