Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Kansas (Spirit Defense) is seeking a highly skilled technician for work across composite hand lay-up, robotic, automation, acoustic, avionic, vibrational and optical areas. You must be able to lift, stand for long hours, and follow schematics and instructions to troubleshoot and maintain complex equipment.

The role requires 5+ years in a related field, the ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance, and familiarity with aerospace composites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working as a technician in a related field.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
• Experience with composites and hand lay-up techniques for monolithic and sandwich panels.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• 5+ years working as a technician in a related field
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)
• Experience with composites and hand lay-up techniques for monolithic and sandwich panels
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• 2- year Associate's Degree from Trade/Technical School
• Experience with or be willing to learn machine shop type equipment (drills, saws, sanders, etc.), ovens and autoclaves, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment
• Familiarity with aerospace specifications
• Experience with FTIR, GDS, GCMS instrumentation
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
