Job summary

Sonoco, a global packaging company, is seeking a Spiral Technician in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on operating and maintaining the 17” winder line, with emphasis on safety, quality, and efficient production.

You will learn machine setups, operate cutters, perform preventative maintenance, and manage Oracle data orders. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to meet daily goals and ensure product quality.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist all required machine setups for 17” winder equipment.
• Operate, set up, and troubleshoot equipment as required.
• Operate cutter and perform machine preventative maintenance.
• Enter Oracle production orders and track production information like scrap and downtime.
• Document and maintain machine logs; report quality measurements and metrics.
• Assist crew with set ups, packaging, and quality requirements.

Location: Cincinnati, OH
Position: Spiral Technician
Pay: $24.51/hr
Shift: 3rd

Must be willing to work overtime when needed

While reporting to the shift supervisor you will work in production for our tube and core division and be responsible for working in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands‑on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing:

• This position will be required to learn and assist all required machine and support 17’’ winder equipment set ups.
• Mechanical skills to operate, set up, and trouble shoot equipment as required will also be needed.
• Ability to operate cutter.
• This team member will also be required to perform machine preventative maintenance on various pieces of equipment related to the carpet yarn line.
• The technician position will require proficiency level to operate machine on a substitute basis.
