Job summary

Sonoco Products Company is seeking a Spiral Technician I for its Robesonia, PA location. The role focuses on operating and setting up 17' winder equipment, ensuring quick, safe production and high quality.

The position requires flexibility for overtime and strong attendance. You will learn and support machine set ups, operate cutters, and perform preventive maintenance while coordinating with teams to meet production orders and quality metrics.

Qualifications

Position: Spiral Technician I
Location: Robesonia, PA
Pay: $24.35/hr
Shift: 2nd shift (1:45pm - 10pm)
Must be willing to work overtime when needed

While reporting to the shift supervisor you will work in production for our tube and core division and be responsible for working in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast‑paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands‑on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing:

• This position will be required to learn and assist with all required machine and support 17' winder equipment set ups.
• Mechanical skills to operate, set up, and troubleshoot equipment as required will also be needed.
• Ability to operate cutter.
• This team member will also be required to perform machine preventive maintenance on various pieces of equipment related to the carpet yarn line.
• The technician position will require proficiency level to operate machine on a substitute basis.

• Understanding of buildups and tube constructions. Cutter set up procedures.
• Positive attitude. Excellent/strong leadership skills.
• Excellent knowledge of all LOTO requirements.
• Initiative and ability to understand sense of urgency to meet customer requirements. Customer focused.
• Ability to identify cost savings opportunities and communicate to management.
