Job summary

Altus Spine in West Chester, PA seeks a Surgical Support Specialist to become the go-to expert on surgical systems, providing in-room support and hands-on OR training. The role includes coordination of equipment, collaboration with hospital staff, and ongoing surgeon relationship management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years of equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–3 years of Operating Room experience.
• 1-3 years of customer-facing experience, ideally in a clinical, sales, or technical support capacity.
• Prior experience in the medical device industry is preferred, especially in surgical or implantable products.
• Valid Driver’s License & Hospital Credentialing.
• In-Office Presence: on-site at Altus Spine corporate office.

Responsibilities

• Be the Expert: become the go-to authority on Altus Spine surgical systems in clinical use and technical functionality.
• Train and Educate: provide hands-on OR staff and SPD training on system usage, cleaning and maintenance.
• Support in the OR: offer in-the-room support during surgical procedures to ensure seamless use of systems and instruments.
• Manage Logistics: coordinate equipment inventory, restock supplies, and inspect systems for every surgery to be fully equipped.
• Collaborate & Communicate: work cross-functionally with internal teams and hospital staff to plan and deliver surgical solutions.
• Build Surgeon Relationships: develop and maintain strong partnerships with client surgeons.
• Be a Key Liaison: interface with internal departments and external partners including executives to ensure alignment.
• Support Business Development: assist with onboarding, post-trial follow-ups, and account management to drive growth.
• Identify New Opportunities: reach out to potential users to understand orthopedic equipment needs and decision processes.
