Job summary

Duke University Health System seeks an accomplished academic spine surgeon to serve as Chief of the Spine Division, uniting Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery to create a national model for comprehensive spine care.

The Chief reports jointly to the Chairs of Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery and leads the clinical, academic, research, and operational missions of the Division while serving as System Medical Director for Spine.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery or Neurosurgery and eligible for North Carolina licensure.
• Academic track record with leadership in spine-related programs.
• Demonstrated success building and leading complex, matrixed health-system programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead divisional strategy and operations for the Spine Division.
• Oversee clinical growth, quality, and financial performance.
• Advance research and academic programs within the spine enterprise.
• Mentor faculty and support residency/fellowship education.
