Job summary

YMCA Southcoast is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor (Spin Certified) to lead and supervise exercise classes that promote healthy lifestyles. The role requires teaching multiple formats, maintaining safety, and energizing participants with diverse routines.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Physical Education or have 3+ years of group exercise experience, along with Spin Certification. Certifications (ACE/AFFA/ACSM) are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• BS in Physical Education or 3+ years group exercise experience.
• Spin Certification; Able to teach multiple formats.
• Physically able to conduct and demonstrate exercise routines.
• Interact with participants of wide age/ability ranges.
• National certifications (ACE/AFFA/ACSM) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and instruct members in exercise classes.
• Demonstrates proper techniques and routines for class participation.
• Educates participants on form, anatomy, contraindications, and modification of moves.
• Develops routines for diversity, enjoyment, and energy in classes.
• Keeps attendance records and encourages participant commitment.
• Address participant safety concerns.
