Job summary

YMCA Southcoast in Swansea, MA is seeking a Part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead, supervise, and instruct members in diverse exercise classes. Ideal candidates will have a BS in Physical Education or related field, or 3+ years of experience, and hold or be pursuing national certifications (ACE/AFAA/ACSM).

Responsibilities include teaching techniques, anatomy basics, safety, and class motivation while maintaining attendance and engaging participants across ages and abilities.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Physical Education or related field, or minimum of three years experience leading group exercise classes.
• Physically able to conduct and demonstrate exercise routines.
• Ability to interact with individuals of a wide range of age and ability.
• National certifications in ACE, AFFA, ACSM highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and instruct members and guests in exercise classes.
• Demonstrates proper techniques and routines for class participation and safety.
• Educates participants on form, anatomy, contraindications, and modification of moves.
• Develops routines for diversity, engagement, and energy in classes.
• Maintains class attendance records and encourages participant commitment.
