Job summary

Brad Foote Gearing, a division of Broadwind, seeks a Speed Reducer Assembler in Pittsburgh, PA. In this hands-on role, you will tear down, repair, and rebuild speed reducers to meet exact customer specifications, under the guidance of the Lead Assembler.

Qualifications

19 to 24 months of experience in mechanical assembly or related work.
Ability to learn and perform repairs using mechanical principles and read detailed assembly drawings.
High manual dexterity for assembly tasks and sound judgment in tool use and material selection.
Ability to perform moderate physical exertion in a machine shop and use common safety practices.

Responsibilities

Rebuild and repair speed reducers by disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling per customer drawings.
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and drill presses for parts repairs.
Check work with gauges, micrometers, and other precision instruments to ensure quality.
Operate overhead cranes and fork trucks to move parts safely.
Read and explain the contents of Standard Operating Procedures.
