• 19 to 24 months of experience in mechanical assembly or related work.
• Ability to learn and perform repairs using mechanical principles and read detailed assembly drawings.
• High manual dexterity for assembly tasks and sound judgment in tool use and material selection.
• Ability to perform moderate physical exertion in a machine shop and use common safety practices.

Responsabilidades

• Rebuild and repair speed reducers by disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling per customer drawings.
• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and drill presses for parts repairs.
• Check work with gauges, micrometers, and other precision instruments to ensure quality.
• Operate overhead cranes and fork trucks to move parts safely.
• Read and explain the contents of Standard Operating Procedures.

Brad Foote Gearing, a division of Broadwind, is seeking an Assembler to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 1st shift position, with overtime as necessary. Come join our team!

Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Speed Reducer Assembler to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for tearing down, repairing, and rebuilding speed reducers to meet exact customer specifications. Operating under the guidance of the Lead Assembler, you will play a crucial part in the success of our team. Will provide their own tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Build subassemblies using the cranes, press, and oven
• Responsible for assembling and matching various types of gearing
• Check the Route Sheet and blueprints for the operations and instructions
• Clean parts at the wash tank
• Assemble bearings with proper preload or end play
• Fabricate lube systems using hard pipe, tubing and hoses
• Run test enclosed drives using related measuring equipment
• Paint enclosed drives to customer specifications
• Maintain department equipment in good working order
• Safe operation of various types of fork lifts
• Record required data on the proper forms as needed during the assembly process
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience: 19 to 24 months of experience in mechanical assembly, machine operation, or related work.

* Technical Skills: The ability to learn and make general repairs utilizing mechanical principles, as well as the skill to accurately interpret detailed assembly drawings.

* Dexterity & Judgment: A high degree of manual dexterity for assembly tasks and considerable judgment in selecting and using materials, tools, and equipment.

* Safety & Physicality: Ability to perform moderate physical exertion using medium-sized hand tools inside a machine shop setting, utilizing ordinary care to prevent moderate accident hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Rebuild & Repair: Disassemble speed reducers, assist in inspecting components for defects, and reassemble, fit, align, and adjust units according to precise customer drawings and specifications.
• Machine Operation: Set up and operate all types of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and drill presses, to machine miscellaneous parts required for repairs.
• Quality Assurance: Check and measure your work using gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure proper quality.
• Testing: Tests speed reducers for proper operation and completes appropriate quality documents.
• Material Handling: Safely operate overhead cranes and fork trucks to transfer and position parts to be assembled.
