Responsibilities
- Provides quality speech therapy services and recognizes referrals when appropriate, in accordance with established standards of practice, company procedures, therapy department procedures, and productivity standards.
- Evaluates and obtains data necessary to ensure treatment implementation that reflects the safety and overall well‑being of the individual.
- Recognizes the need for and modification of (if necessary) diet/liquid textures to ensure the safest, least restrictive diet of the residents.
- Educates/coordinates with the patient, family, outside contractors, and/or staff as needed regarding appropriate speech‑language procedures to allow carryover of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities.
- Completes required daily treatment notes, progress notes, recertifications, and discharges to justify skilled necessity and to ensure best quality of care per Medicare guidelines.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in speech‑language pathology from an accredited SLP master’s program.
- Must have a passing score on the national examination for the Praxis Exam in Audiology and Speech‑Language Pathology (will consider CFY at the discretion of the company).
- Current, active licensure in the state of OK as a Speech‑Language Pathologist.
- Uphold state required CEU’s in order to maintain good standing with the board.
- Must be able to complete documentation efficiently to meet reimbursement and regulatory requirements.
- Therapeutic experience in older adults across multiple diagnostic groups is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, and an automobile in good working condition with appropriate insurance coverage in accordance with state laws.
- Respectful, open communication with other team members, clients, and families.
